Back-to-back clean sweeps of all three grades have provided a
significant mid-season boost for the Vodafone Warriors’ NRL and NYC
teams as well as feeder club the Vulcans in the New South Wales Cup.

In fact in the last three weeks the three teams
have collectively won eight of nine matches, the only reverse being the
Vodafone Junior Warriors’ 10-24 loss to Newcastle on May 26.
June
has started perfectly. In the opening weekend of the month the three
teams combined to score 138 points including 25 tries while conceding
only 48 points; on Sunday the total points scored in three matches was
108 (20 tries) with 46 conceded.
Going into this week’s round of
matches the Vodafone Warriors are 13th on the NRL ladder and fourth on
the NYC table while the Vulcans have climbed inside the top eight in the
New South Wales Cup, their three straight wins lifting them to sixth.
South
Sydney continues to lead the NRL competition by a point from Melbourne,
Canberra is a point ahead of Penrith in the NYC and the unbeaten
Cronulla heads the NSW Cup with 28 points.
Elsewhere Mount Albert
is a point clear at the top of Auckland's Fox Memorial premiership from
Point Chevalier and in the English Super League Wigan is an impressive
five points ahead of nearest challenger Huddersfield.
