Following the announcement on Wednesday that SL will reduce to 12 teams
in 2015 major shareholders Feisal Nahaboo and Mark Campbell will hold an
emergency meeting along with Chief Executive Craig Poskitt next
Wednesday in London to discuss a 1-2M investment into Featherstone
Rovers to continue progressing and Developing our facilities to ensure
our long term strategy to improve and progress our players and staff at
all levels, The foresight of the Club is to Maintain and improve our
ever growing infrastructure , supported by our strong philosophies based
around Discipline, this will underpin our Culture and Environment which
we value highly, We feel that these Strong standards and values will
provide us with a Great opportunity to bring Super League to
Featherstone Rovers in the not too distant future. In a brief statement
Feisal today said, "The strength of the Championship has increased with
Batley, Sheffield and Halifax exceeding my expectations this season. We
will now 'substantially' strengthen our chances of promotion and I
expect Mark and I agree a strategy and plan for the best interests of
the club and fans which will enable us to attract a substantial number
of the best youngsters in the country as well as enhancing coaching
facilities for the existing squad. A sporting centre of excellence
costing in the excess of £250k is well underway that will give extra
revenues along with giving John and his staff the best possible platform
and facilities, we plan to make Featherstone a rugby league fortress
and Marks contacts and vast knowledge of the game along with my
experience in building and running substantial businesses will synergise
and formulate one of the most powerful clubs in the country. We will
also name 'additional' investors who will be amongst associates, clients
and suppliers of mine. We will be the club to beat next season and
under the rules and regulations of the salary cap we hope to introduce
some substantial SL experience"
