And while Elima admits that the majority of the France squad will be made up of members of the Dragons squad, he believes the Elite One players also have a role to play.
“I think the French domestic players can play a role, even though it’s probably going to be 85% Catalan Dragons players.
“There will be space for domestic players and this is a big opportunity for them. There are some very good players in the competition and a number of them have shown this year that they have what it takes, like Maxime Greseque and Matthieu Griffi.
“A number of them have played for France before, and you usually find that they are capable of producing something extra special when they pull on the blue jersey.”
France face Papua New Guinea at MS3 Craven Park on October 27, New Zealand in Avignon on November 1 and Samoa in Perpignan on November 11.
