XIII DEL BRESA’ DOMINATES WITH POWER

Last night (Thursday, 6 June 2013 note) at the Brescia stadium Invernici, there was the opening of the FIRL seria A RL, North West conference.   In a fun and exciting match between the home side XIII de Bresa and the XIII del Duomo from Milan. At the end of the match it was the home side who took out the match against the Milan team by a commanding  52 to 18 (10 tries to 3). Despite the large gap in the result the meeting was open and entertaining game, played at a high rhythm and with a lot of heart.  After the initial advantage to Brescia, the XIII del Duomo managed to close the gap, but in the end they were forced to surrender to the greater rhythm of the hosts but also due to the fact they didn’t have any extra men on the bench. In the end the XIII de Brescia were comfortable winner, as they were able to take advantage of the replacements to keep their foot down on the accelerator.
Both captains were satisfied with their teams for the play shown, both defensively and the play made in attack, there has been a steady development and improvement over the last two seasons. In fact, although many players were new to the game having come from Rugby Union, the level of play shown by the teams  has shown the game has grown in quality and quantity, which demonstrates the success Rugby League is having in Italy. This growth is demonstrated by the broadening of the championship, this year the championship is organised into three groups (North-West, North-East and Centre) consisting of a number of teams.
The next appointment,  for the North-West group  is on Sunday, June 9 with the match between the XIII del Asti (North West Roosters)  against the XIII del Ducato from Piacenza.
Instead on Saturday, June 15 there is the double header in Piacenza with the XIII del Duomo playing against home side Ducato and the XIII de Bresa against the Roosters from Asti.
